Matthias Schlitte Technique And Style

Matthias Schlitte has one massive right arm he uses to dominate the competition. He uses his one big, Hellboy-esque arm and lower weight to pin his opponents to the table.

Matthias Schlitte: A Quick Bio

Matthias Schlitte, AKA Hellboy, was born with a rare genetic bone disorder. Klippel–Trénaunay syndrome, the disorder that gave Matthias his unique appearance, is a musculoskeletal disorder where the blood vessels and lymph vessels fail to develop properly leading to local gigantism and muscle hypertrophy.

This disorder was recognized at birth for Matthias Schlitte and caused him to stand out quite a bit as a kid. Matthias knew he could use his genetic defect to his advantage. He subsequently joined an armwrestling club in his younger years and began armwrestling at 16. He competed for the first time in 2004 and has been hooked on armwrestling ever since. Matthias uses his own version of the pumpkin armwrestling training technique to train his right arm 12 hours a day!

The real-life Popeye has become an international sensation in armwrestling, dubbed “Hellboy.” For kids worldwide, he is a beacon of hope and fun for others with the rare genetic condition of Klippel–Trénaunay syndrome.
