Denis “Chernobyl” Cyplenkov

This Guy Looks Like He Was Made In A Lab Like The Winter Solder…

In 2018, Denis Cyplenkov was the first massive opponent Devon Larratt armwrestled against and lost. While a few health scares have caused him to focus more on cutting weight, the Russian mass monster holds critical acclaim in the industry.

Denis Cyplenkov Technique And Style

Like most armwrestlers at this level, his armwrestling hook and toproll technique are some of the best in the sport. He was once the world record holder for the strict bicep curl at 113kg (approximately 249 lbs). This would make his hook (at his peak) one of the strongest on the planet, and his bicep supination strength is still immense. He encountered multiple health scares and issues but has maintained his incredible endurance strength.

Past his peak, Denis “Chernobyl” Cyplenkov is still regarded as one of the best to ever pull at the table.

Denis Cyplenkov: A Quick Bio

Denis had humble beginnings as a highly regarded powerlifter in Eastern Europe. For over a decade, he held a ludicrous powerlifting world record for the strict bicep curl at 113kg (approximately 249 lbs) until it was broken by Leroy Walker at 114kg (approximately 251 lbs) in 2021.

In 2018, he debuted in armwrestling, besting Devon Larratt 6-0 in an international armwrestling super-match. However, this year and win against Devon Larratt would mark a culmination of health scares that plagued Denis Cyplenkov.

When he was training after 2018, a strength movement caused a blood vessel in his kidney to collapse, forcing doctors to place a stent in the blood vessel of his kidney. Then, another unfortunate diagnosis of neuritis (nerve inflammation) made it hard for Denis to move part of his face. While the armwrestling community speculated it was a stroke, Doctors confirmed this was neuritis. These two injuries forced Denis Cyplenkov to stop training super heavy movements and take time off to rest his body.

While Denis no longer holds many of the same titles and is currently unranked, Devon Larratt sent Denis the Legacy Hammer from the WAL for his incredible left-handed strength, which the entire community agrees with and still admires.
