Strength and sports are on the horizon! Today, Wednesday, July 3rd, the People’s Armwrestling Federation of India (PAFI) announced it was set to host the armwrestling International Cup in Mumbai from the 19th to the 26th of October.
This is a multi-national event, with PAFI, the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF), and the Asian Armwrestling Federation (AAF) organizing the competition together.
A Sizable International Tournament
A total of 300-400 overseas participants and a total of 800+ armwrestlers are geared up to battle for a spot at being the king of the PAFI competition table!
The Asian International Cup will become host to more than 15 represented countries and plans to follow the same armwrestling rules as the Asian Armwrestling Cup and World Championship Armwrestling Cup.
Preeti Jhangiani, president of the PAFI shared her thoughts on India hosting the Asian International Cup. The PAFI director stated, “It is a matter of great honor and pride for us at People’s Armwrestling Federation India (PAFI) to have received the mandate to host the prestigious Asian Armwrestling Cup.”
The Global Impact Of Armwrestling
Personally, I think it is incredibly cool that India is hosting such a large-scale armwrestling event. One can only wonder if the famed Devon Larratt will make an appearance or if any other famous armwrestler will!
